Mickey Mouse & President Obama

So what do Mickey Mouse and President Obama have in common? I invited them both to my wedding! Of course I knew that they would not be attending but I was anxious to get congratulatory cards.

I still have yet to hear back from the President. Hopefully he(AKA his staff) sends my card soon. He should really stay on top of things like that during an election year. Some people would be childish enough to pick their president over a reason of the sort. According to www.politico.com, "The White House typically responds with a congratulatory note stamped with an official seal that many brides covet as a scrapbook centerpiece." A friend of mine that recently got married posted a picture on Facebook of her congratulations from President and First Lady.

Today I get my postcard from Mickey and Minnie which is pictured below. The back of it was addressed to Chuck and I and said, "Congratulations and best wishes!" Then it had their "signatures." Camden is a Mickey fanatic so he was very pleased to see a postcard with Mickey on it in today's mail.

I have heard that you can also send invitations to Cinderella and Prince Charming. I stopped at the two because I had plenty of other invitations to send out and if you have been married before you know how expensive the invitations can get. Apparently some people send save the dates also. We didn't think our save the date magnet would even be acknowledged at the White House so we didn't go that far. RSVPs were included in our invitation set and sadly you do not get an RSVP reply. I would have definitely framed my RSVP from the President and where he would have checked on the "We will be toasting from a far," line. His only other option was, "Kicking our heels up already." I think both would have been equally as great to have!!

But if you are ever interested in sending a wedding invitation to either Mickey or the President the addresses are:
